Weather for lift hours

Only counts while the lifts run

Kaiserwetter Ski rates the weather during the resort's operating hours, or from 8:30 to 16:00 local time when none are published. You see how many hours are open and how many are sunny, not a daily average that includes the night.

  • Summit, mid-mountain and valley, with gusts and freezing level
  • Snow overnight counts in favour; snowfall during lift hours does not
  • A 7-day grid with a ski-day rating and new snow per day

Rating and Scout

Where is it best today?

The rating – Kaiserwetter, good, fair, poor – follows your profile: cruiser, powder, sporty, family or park, for skiing and snowboarding. It is rule-based and shows its reasons.

The Scout compares today, tomorrow or the weekend across all resorts, your favourites, by driving time or by radius. Closed resorts are never presented as a good ski day. You can also put two or three resorts side by side.

Season start

When does it begin?

“Opening soon” lists the next published season start dates with a countdown, favourites first. If a resort has not published a date yet, the app says exactly that – it never invents one.

Once the season has started, a resort counts as open unless there is evidence otherwise. The source is always shown in small print.

Piste map

Trail map and 3D drone view

Every resort has an illustrated panoramic trail map built from open data, plus a valley view for each base area. “Where am I?” shows you as a dot on the plan. The plan and the map are free.

The Season Pass adds the interactive 3D view: tap a lift and the camera looks up the lift line. A compass turns the view. Your favourites' piste maps also work offline.

Maps never replace signs, closures or operator instructions on the mountain.

Avalanches and notifications

Official, not estimated

The avalanche danger level comes straight from the official avalanche warning services, with publisher, validity and a link to the full bulletin. Without a current bulletin the app shows no level.

Choose notifications for each favourite:

  • new snow (basic alert from 20 cm)
  • resort has opened
  • official avalanche danger level 3 or higher
  • first-tracks day after fresh snow with a clear morning

Everything is worked out on your iPhone, with quiet hours from 22:00 to 07:00.

For tours away from secured pistes, read the full bulletin. Kaiserwetter Ski does not replace an avalanche assessment.
